Apex Trader Funding Payout Rules

Facts verified August 14, 2026

To request an Apex payout on accounts bought after March 1, 2026, you must clear the Safety Net (your account's trailing drawdown amount + $100), log 5 qualifying trading days, and keep any single day under the 50% consistency rule. The minimum payout is $500, and the Safety Net only applies to your first 3 approved payouts.

What are the requirements to request a payout?

On a Performance Account (PA) bought after March 1, 2026, three conditions must all be true before you can request a withdrawal:

  • 1.Clear the Safety Net. This equals your account's trailing drawdown amount plus $100. You must reach that balance before your first payout.
  • 2.Log 5 qualifying trading days. You need at least five days of trading activity that meet Apex's criteria.
  • 3.Respect the 50% consistency rule. No single day can be 50% or more of your profit since your last payout. The counter resets each time a payout is approved.

What is the Safety Net and when does it stop applying?

The Safety Net is a balance threshold equal to your trailing drawdown amount plus $100. It exists so that you can only withdraw once your account is safely in profit above the drawdown line.

Crucially, the Safety Net is required only for your first 3 approved payouts. From the 4th payout onward it no longer applies, which makes later withdrawals more flexible.

How much is the minimum payout?

The minimum payout is $500. Once you have met the Safety Net, you can withdraw at least $500 even if that amount exceeds the net itself. Larger balances let you request more, subject to the consistency rule.

How many payouts can you get?

Each Performance Account is capped at 6 payouts, after which the account closes. Because Apex lets you run up to 20 accounts, that works out to a theoretical maximum of up to 120 payouts across a full set of accounts.

Traders who stay consistent can progress to Apex Live accounts, which do not carry the 6-payout cap — the long-term path for people treating this seriously.

What changed in March 2026 (new rules vs legacy PAs)?

In March 2026 the consistency rule loosened from 30% to 50%. Accounts bought before March 1, 2026 are "legacy" PAs and keep the old rule set; accounts bought after that date use the new rules.

Rules can be revised by the firm, so treat this as a plain-English summary and confirm the current terms in your Apex dashboard before requesting a payout. For the wider March 2026 overhaul, see our Apex March 2026 update breakdown.
