Does Apex charge a commission to take the evaluation?
No. There is no commission, spread markup, or hidden surcharge on buying an Apex evaluation. The evaluation is a single one-time fee — currently from $16.70 with code DEALPROPFIRM (up to 90% OFF). On the current product line there is no monthly rebill and no reset fees baked into that price.
In other words, the "commission" question mixes up two different things: the price you pay Apex to attempt the evaluation, and the per-trade commissions you pay the platform once you are actually placing orders. Apex does not add a commission to the first one.
What trading commissions do you pay on Apex?
Once you trade, you pay the standard per-round-turn futures commissions that the trading platform passes through. These are the same exchange and broker fees any retail futures trader pays — Apex does not mark them up.
| Platform / connection | E-mini (ES, NQ) | Micros (MES, MNQ) |
|---|---|---|
| Rithmic | ~$1.99 per side (~$3.98 round turn) | A fraction of the mini rate |
| Tradovate | Its own published schedule | A fraction of the mini rate |
| NinjaTrader | Connects via Rithmic/Tradovate — same rates | Same as the underlying feed |
Rates vary by instrument and can change, so always check the platform's live commission schedule for exact per-contract pricing before you trade. Micro contracts (MES, MNQ, MGC and similar) cost only a small fraction of the equivalent E-mini, which is why many traders scale in with micros first.
Does Apex on NinjaTrader charge different commissions?
No. NinjaTrader is a front-end platform that connects to Apex accounts through Rithmic or Tradovate, so the per-contract commissions are the same ones listed above — there is no separate "NinjaTrader commission" stacked on top.
One practical note: Apex's Tradovate evaluation tiers typically run about $20–$30 cheaper upfront than the equivalent Rithmic tiers, so the platform you pick affects the evaluation price more than it affects your per-trade commissions.
Are there any hidden commissions or fees?
There is no hidden commission on the evaluation fee. The only recurring cost of trading is the normal exchange and broker round-turn commission, charged when you actually place trades. Beyond that, the one fee that is easy to overlook is the one-time activation fee you pay after you pass, to activate the funded account — that is not a commission either.
Bottom line: budget for the one-time evaluation fee, standard per-round-turn commissions when you trade, and a one-time activation fee if you pass. That is the full picture — no commission surprises baked into the evaluation.
